THE COLORS OF SILENCE
The silence that runs through these pages echoes from mute images — born both from excess and absence. It accumulates on peeling walls, seeps through corridors, and emerges in abandoned buildings. Silence is not emptiness. It carries texture, weight, and color. Like us, color struggles to persist under certain conditions.
Between skyscrapers and narrow alleys of São Paulo, the urban landscape grows mute. Spaces that should shelter instead repel, harden, and deny. Here, amid structures built at the margins, the residues of our productive lives become shelter, and dignity is reinvented day after day.
Silence here is not merely ruin. It is also a threshold — a fragile interval where exhaustion, resistance, and the possibility of reinvention coexist. The colors of silence emerge from rusted metal, worn walls, and tired skin, but also from the stubborn flashes of life that persist in the cracks of the city.
